Can you really have too much?

My husband and I are not only Tarot readers but we’ve also been hit with the collecting bug.  I believe we have around 65 Tarot decks plus probably 40 or so oracle decks.  Currently we are waiting for the Da Vinci Enigma Tarot to arrive in the post.

So should you stop collecting when you reach a certain number?  Should you stop when you find the ‘one’ (that perfect deck)?  Or should you never collect at all?

Even though I have so many decks to choose from I find myself drawn time and time again to certain decks.  I love my Universal Rider Waite as a good standard deck for anything.  The Pagan Tarot, I use when I want to have modern day images to work with my intuition.  When I work on missing persons or object cases I usually reach for the Witches Tarot.  When I work with my husband on family issues we use either Robin Wood or the DruidCraft.  And when I want a giggle I pull out the Halloween deck.

Since I began collecting I’ve been on a quest for the perfect deck.  I thought I’d found it several times but there is always something that doesn’t keep me satisfied for long and I’m off again looking for ‘the one’.  I know I’m not going to find it until I create my very own deck (and even then who’s to say I won’t want to improve it lol).

I can’t stop collecting Tarot decks even if some of them stay hidden at the bottom of boxes.  There is something about each one I own that draws me in some way – usually the artwork.

I know I can never own just one deck and I know I’m never going to be cured of this card obsession.  And honestly, I like it like that 🙂

To blog or not to blog?

It has taken some time for me to answer that question!  Do I record my thoughts and ideas and share with the world on the www or do I keep them to myself?  Obviously by the fact that I’m typing away on our All About Tarot blog I decided it was time to share!!

I have a million and one thoughts on the Tarot (plus other oracles and divination systems) so it shouldn’t be hard to fill my blog.

The card which keeps on giving…

I was chatting to a friend a few nights ago and to illustrate a point I mentioned the Tower Card (Tarot) to explain how sometimes in life you receive the lightening bolt from heaven which shatters your whole world.

In my own life, I had my Tower card experience 4 years ago. And even today I’m still getting the ripples from this. It just got me wondering that when the out-of-the-blue, devastating Tower card comes up, how long does it really take to rebuild your life?  Can you really, and should you try to, include anything from the past or should you leave it in the rubble?

Yellow T-Shirts

How hard can it be to find yellow t-shirts for boys? I can tell you that it’s almost impossible.

As another school year comes to an end and the dreaded sports day arrives, I have not one but two sons in the yellow team. Last year I was fortunate to have sons in the white and yellow teams (no problem with the white t-shire btw).

So what to do?

The answer is simply tumeric, a bucket of water and a lot of luck. Last year I couldn’t find a dye so I had a last minute panic and turned to my spice cupboard. Knowing tumeric stains the kitchen sink excellently, I did a quick home dye job.

Have to say the results were not too bad – definitely yellow but a little patchy where I left them in the sun to dry. Plus they had that spicy aroma which you just can’t find in shop bought yellow shirts!

Well, I’m blogging at last….

It's only taken me several years to jump on the blogging band wagon but finally the day has dawned and I'm off and running…..

I'm just going to share my thoughts (there are many), feelings (can be extreme) and life (always busy).

So stay posted for insights into the life of a modern day witch 🙂
